Sunday in the Park

Sunday in the Park with George
September 10 – October 31
Music by Stephen Sondheim
Book by James Lapine

Inspired by George Seurat’s masterpiece, “A Sunday on La Grande Jatte," this
Pulitzer Prize-winning musical imagines the life of the artist and the people he
painted. At turns heartbreaking and humorous, Sunday in the Park with George
explores the tension between life and art, and explores the choices we must all
make as we weigh our personal ambitions with the demands place on us by
those we love.

Miracle on 34th Street

Miracle on 34th Street
November 19 – January 2
By Patricia DiBenedetto, Will Snyder and John Vreeke
Adaptation of the story by Valentine Davies and Screenplay by George Seaton

In this inspired American fable, a department store Santa Claus claims to be the real Kris Kringle, as he tries to bring the wonder of Christmas into the lives of a
skeptical mother and a precocious daughter. Based on the classic film and
incorporating traditional holiday music, Miracle on 34th Street is a celebration of
the magic of imagination. The perfect holiday outing for the entire family, this
production is also a wonderful opportunity to introduce young children to live theatre. Following each performance, children “from one to ninety-two” are invited to visit with Santa Claus.

Meet John Doe
March 4 – April 17
Music by Andrew Gerle, lyrics by Eddie Sugarman
Book by Andrew Gerle and Eddie Sugarman, additional story by Matt August

In a last-ditch effort to save her job, a newspaper columnist fabricates an
anonymous letter from a reader threatening suicide over the state of the
nation. Capitalizing on the public’s reaction to the letter, she convinces the
paper not only to keep her employed, but to hire an out of work baseball player
to be her “John Doe." But can a social movement borne from a media ruse
succeed as a catalyst for change?

The King and I
April 22 – June 5
By Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein
Based on the book Anna and the King of Siam by Margaret Landon

As America fights its civil war, Anna, an English widow, sails to Bangkok with
her young son to tutor the wives and children of the King of Siam. The King
wishes Siam to have a larger role on the world stage while maintaining its
traditions as he increasingly turns to Anna for assistance. Featuring such
classics as “Shall We Dance” and “Getting to Know You”, The King and I is a
story of a man and a woman with matching intelligence and strength, but clashing personalities, prejudices and politics.
